Kay Prescott is a NYC-based videographer and video editor. She received her BA in Dance and Media with a minor in Arts Management from Marymount Manhattan College in 2024. Her passion for storytelling through video emerged during COVID when everything went digital.

A significant project she undertook was serving as the head videographer, editor, and archivist for Marymount Manhattan College’s Dance Department. In her role as their in-house videographer, she managed two cameras for regular concert dance shows: a stable camera for wide shots and a moving camera for close-ups, while also handling the livestream simultaneously. She was the main point of contact for all matters related to department archives and video footage. She took on the responsibility of distributing edited footage to choreographers, implementing file naming and organization systems, managing footage across multiple hard drives, and training other students to do similar tasks. During her three years working this position, she filmed over 20 concert dance shows and edited over 100 choreographic pieces. Notable works of hers have been featured in Dance Spirit Magazine and Dance Magazine.

Her role with Marymount’s archives led her to Urban Bush Women as a Multimedia Archive Intern. Here she focused on creating content with their archives. This experience deepened her knowledge of archiving and sparked a passion for preservation.

Since graduating, Kay has had the pleasure of assisting Tobin Del Cuore in filming interviews with the José Limón Dance Company. She worked as a Projections Assistant to Burke Brown for David Virelles’ original composition performance at Carnegie Hall. She has also been credited in IMDb for her work on the short film “The Heart of the Game” by Alexandra Maxwell. Kay continues to produce her own creative content and looks forward to the future of video making and digital preservation for dance.
